DudeFest

Down the street from my place is the Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse, a historic single theatre venue that hosts movies, comedians and other entertainers. I saw they were having their annual Dudefest, a night of appreciation for the cult classic The Big Lebowski, so I lugged some gear down the street to make some portraits of moviegoers dressed as their favorite characters. I got the chance to again photograph friend and actress Katie Nigsch Fairfax the other week. We had a blast and tried to add a little comedy to the photographs.

 

 

Phil Krantz for Men’s Fitness

Back in July I had the opportunity to photograph Phil Krantz for Men’s Fitness magazine. A former-marine, Phil stopped concentrating on his health while starting his construction business. Grabbing quick unhealthy meals mixed with little exercise left him weighing 258-pounds. But 18-months ago he decided to change himself back. We did the shoot at Gold’s Gym in Chantilly, Va. The way that Phil changed his physic, he looks a bit intimidating now. But in all honesty, he is the most down-to-earth guy with a great sense of humor. The shoot was a lot of fun and the people at Gold’s Gym were greatly accommodating. Here’s a few from the shoot.

 

 

Going Green

I had a shoot for the Washington Post Express a few weeks ago. They were featuring Tahera Zamanzada, owner of GreenRoute, a provider of hybrid driving services in the DC Metro area.
